Business Card Display Ideas

By: Kaitlyn Miller

When it comes to business cards, business card printing isn’t the only thing you have to think about. How will you get your business cards into the hands of prospects? Networking, of course. But what about when you’re not networking? Customers that come into your store or that go to another store looking for a complementary product to yours might also be interested in your business card.

Business card displays are a great way to get your business card to prospects and clients when you aren’t around. And even if people don’t take one of your business cards, they’ll at least see your name and logo, which will build memorability. When people meet you in your office, a nice business card display will catch their attention and they’ll be more likely to pick up a business card. When people are waiting in line at another store, they’ll take the time to look at your business card display. Here are some display ideas that will catch people’s attention.

CardCues

CardCues (www.cardcues.com) are nice card holders that can be pinned to bulletin boards or they can stand up on their own on a desk. The great thing about a CardCues holder is that instead of only tacking up one card on a bulletin board, you can tack up about 40 at a time, and when someone takes one business card, your advertising is still on the bulletin board by way of your other cards. This can save you a lot of time if you go back to bulletin boards every week to hang up more business cards.

Business card cubes

Software developer Ned Batchelder created his own business card holder in the shape of a cube, made out of business cards. Check out the tutorial to create your own at: http://nedbatchelder.com/text/cardcube.html. The bad news is that you have to waste a few business cards to make the box, but it’s such an interesting presentation, it’s worth it!

Vintage action figure display

Flickr user chesterfly thought of a great business card holder: He-Man. Check out the photo at: http://www.flickr.com/photos/chesterfly/481385636/. Dig up an old action figure or steal one of your kids’ and put it to work. Just make sure your customers are whimsical enough that this won’t make them wonder about you!

Eco-friendly card holder

If you have a “green” business or just want to show your love for the environment, use an old small cardboard box to hold your business cards. Cut the short side of it at an angle to create a shelf-like display space and glue a cardboard “shelf” across the bottom of this space to create a holder for your business cards. You can decorate the box as you like or just leave it plain to let it speak for itself.

Cassette tape display

You probably have a bunch of cassette tapes up in the attic, gathering dust. Why not use one of those as a business card display? Take the cassette casing apart and pull out the tape and everything inside. Then you can glue or string together one side of the cassette case to create a business card holder that looks a lot like a traditional folding business card holder. Voila! Retro and recycle!
