Changing Your Entire Look With A Purse

By: Mark Jackson

When you're stuck with a choice of wearing the same outfit that you wore to another similar function, what can you do to change it? Why wouldn't you just buy an entire new outfit? That seems like an easy solution, but sometimes it just isn't possible, either because you are on a strict budget or the outfit you have is perfect for the occasion. It may also be that you don't really have the time to go shopping for an entire new outfit, so you make the decision to change the one you have.

One of the best ways one can change the look of an outfit is to accessorize it, and that includes the purchase of a new purse and accessories. Taking the time to add some additional jewelry or a different colored scarf can make the outfit that you wore to another function look completely different. For people who attend a variety of different social functions, it can save the expense of having to buy a completely new outfit every time another event is sponsored. For example, choosing a new style of purse, adding a different belt, or even a different top to a suit can change the entire look. Be creative when you make your changes—don't just go out and buy the same style purse in a different color because you happen to like the style. Try something new, a new style, a different color, maybe a clutch instead of a handbag are things that you can do to allow your purse to give you a different look.

You can add some color or design to your handbag in order to accessorize your look more. How you choose to do that depends upon the scope of the affair. If it's casual, you have a little more leeway in the things you can do, but for formal affairs, you need to stay in line with the theme of the event, though pretty scarves and jewelry are always acceptable additions to go along with your purse. In addition, beaded or silk purses in white, gold, and silver tones are always good choices for formal affairs. Some people even prefer a basic black or white, but black tends to detract from the outfit itself, so if you want to draw people's attention to you, even if only for a short time, choose something that is going to make you look like the life of the party. That means to accessorize your purse, outfit, and shoes so that you fit in with the best-dressed crowd at the party. Don't be afraid to act vain on those occasions because you owe it to yourself if you have spent a great deal of care on choosing your purse and accessories.
