Plan a romantic wedding that you remember

By: Ron Thomson

The wedding day should be one of the happiest days of your life but to make it so you need to do some work to make the arrangements all come together on the day. There are so many details to think about that you may, if you are not careful, think all the romance is going out of the window. Yet, once all the major plans are drawn up you will be able to see it all coming together. The Romantic Weddings section of the BeRomantic.com is designed to help you plan a romantic wedding you will always remember whether it is for your wedding or a close friend or relative.

You obviously want to have a wedding you remember for all the right reasons. You do not want to remember it only when all the bill repayment reminders come in each month. To get the right perspective in planning the wedding costs you need to consider what the total budget will be and to do that it will be necessary to meet with both sets of parents to consider what contributions they may be able to meet. In many traditions it is the bride's parents that would pay for the wedding and reception costs but in other places it is usual for this to be shared. Overspending on the wedding day and associated costs will severely restrict the monies left for the living costs setting up a new home together and maintaining a loving relationship over the first few years including unexpected costs e.g. babies, home maintenance bills etc.

The most common reason for breakups in relationships in the first couple of years of marriage is financial difficulties or pressures. Some of that is about spending styles with one partner looking to scrimp the other being extravagant in the eyes of the former. But that only adds resentment whether spoken or not especially where there are debt problems arising from overspending on the wedding ceremony and reception.

If you're planning a romantic wedding to remember, keep in mind the following aspects, so that you don't have a surprise with the final bills. First of all, I should start by telling you that the highest costs are those for the venue, rentals, food, beverages and cake. Furthermore, when planning a wedding to remember, you need to allot at least ten percent of the total budget for each of the following: photography, music, flowers and attire. Should you spend more on certain items along the way, you're still on the right track of planning a wedding to remember; you'll just have to spend less in some other part. For instance, if you want a delicious gourmet dinner, you may cut some expenses from the flower arrangements and make the latter simpler.

Thinking in advance about how to plan your wedding to remember can save you money without loosing any of the romantic wedding atmosphere. For example if you really must have your favorite flowers in your bouquet/displays simply choosing the right time of the year can save money. Alternatively choose the flowers that are in season locally at the time of your wedding will save a lot of money and will help save the earth as they won't need to be flown to you. What items could be hired rather than bought? What other savings are possible in your budget.
