By: Ricardo D Argence

Acne can be very frustrating for some people and there are many different reasons that you might have it. There are also many different ways to treat acne that might work for you.

Acne occurs in many people. It can come in the form of pimples that are black or white heads. This is when the openings of the follicles of the hair are clogged with oils and dirt.

Often times these pimples are filled with bacteria. Acne not only comes in these forms though.

There are other forms that acne can arise on the skin like papules that are small red bumps showing infection in the hair follicles, pustules that are tender red bumps with pus at the surface, nodules that are very large painful bumps under the skin, and in the form of cysts that are also painful too. Cysts fill with pus beneath the skin and are similar to boils that are full of infection.

Acne can be caused by numerous things. If you have an unhealthy diet and you eat a lot of greasy foods and foods considered to be inflammatory, then you could be causing your skin to break out into acne.

Acne is primarily caused from the over production of oils in the skin cells. Your skin might be over shedding dead skin cells and the hair follicles become irritated. And you might have an excessive build up of bacteria in your skin.

Any problems with acne can be repaired by taking proper care of your skin.

There are topical treatments that you can apply to your acne that can dry the oils in your skin and kill the bacteria that are spreading. These topicals also slow down the process of your skin cells dying as quickly as they are.

There are many things that you can find for acne over-the-counter and a dermatologist can prescribe something for you if the over-the-counter products don't work.

Some doctors might prescribe antibiotics for you to take to get rid of the infection and the bacteria. This is the only method for some people.

There are also other methods that are known to help clear up the skin like taking oral contraceptives and surgical procedures.

The most important way to take care of your skin and get rid of acne is by following a serious skin care regimen. If you are dedicated to healthy skin you can achieve it.

First you must by a really good cleanser that you wash your face with everyday. This will help exfoliate the dead skin cells away and leave your skin and your pores clean.

You should have a daily moisturizer that you use. If your skin is oily and this is the problem, then you should use something with a drying effect for oily skin. Some of these products might include astringents.

Also, you should use a night cream on your face for when you sleep. At night is when your skin works to repair itself and it is the most important time for your face. There are acne night creams that you can use that will also fight in repairing your skin.

Acne can be a serious problem for some people if you don't eat right and take care of your skin.

If you commit to a skin care regimen every day you can get rid of acne and prevent any future breakouts from occurring.
