Tips To Beat The Heat And Have Fun During Your Disney World Summer Vacation

By: Aura P.

Are you planning a fun-filled Walt Disney World summer vacation but need some tips on how to deal with the hot weather? Here are some tips to get you cooler, keep you safe, and have fun:

- Get up and going early with a surfing lesson at Typhoon Lagoon with the Cocoa Beach Surfing School. You can surf in the wave pool before the park opens every weekday (except Wednesdays).

- Visit one of Disney World's water parks and just spend all day splashing around. You can go to Typhoon Lagoon where you can ride some of the tallest 'man-made' waves on earth, or you can try your luck at Blizzard Beach with its exciting, rushing water and water slides fit for a true daredevil.

- Try your hand at para sailing, tubing, water skiing, and more water sports courtesy of Sammy Duval Water Sports at the Contemporary Resort.

- Take a ride in the Himalayan mountains. I spend half a hot July summer day at this ride to cool off. You ride on rail cars at Expedition Everest at Animal Kingdom. The rail cars rock you back and forth, taking you swooping into twists and turns in and out of the mountain. And you'll be in for quite a surprise at the end!

- There's plenty to do at Downtown Disney World. Luckily for you, that includes air-conditioned activities. Go inside the various shops and restaurants. You can get souvenirs at the biggest Disney store of them all, World of Disney... and unlike the indoor rides, you won't have to stand in a long line waiting to get relief.

- And last but not least, spend day poolside at one of Disney World's resort hotels.

Here are some things you can do to keep cool and keep yourself safe from the heat while waiting for rides and walking around in the park:

- Wear light-colored, lightweight, loose clothing.

- Try to have one of those battery-operated, hand-held fans you can wear around your neck. Every little bit of cool air helps.

- Don't just drink water. Drink some Gatorade or Powerade to keep your electrolyte level in balance.

- Try going on the rides early in the day, before the sun is at its highest point, then switch to indoor or water activities.

Having fun and being safe while staying cool at Disney World takes a little planning and a willingness to try something new. There's plenty to do so there's no reason why you have to suffer misery in the heat just to try and have a little fun. Good luck planning your vacation and have a great time by beating the heat!

While some people have no difficulties with flying, others find it a difficult undertaking and can be at even more of a loss when it comes to finding something to occupy the time. Many options are available that people tend to forget until they find themselves without entertainment and quite often stuck with either sleeping or reading the in-flight magazine.

  • Bio Diesel By: Simon White - If your diesel engine has an indirect fuel system, like most yachts and motorboats, you could be running it on pure vegetable oil - also known as biodiesel. What are Biofuels? - Biofuels for diesel engines are made from any organic matter which can be pressed to make oil. It is important to distinguish between pure plant oil (PPO) and biodiesel. PPO, which includes filtered waste vegetable oil, is a more viscous fuel than refined diesel. Diesel engines with indirect fuel systems can be modified to run on PPO.

  • Holidays in Spain - 10 Reasons to Go By: Jimi St Pierre - Beyond the more famous areas of Spain, such as the Costa Del Sol, different regions of Spain all offer unique landscapes, lifestyles, cuisine and opportunities for exploration. UK and worldwide advertising by the Spanish National Tourist Office emphasises this to the full. Spain is a country of sleepy villages where the siesta is still observed and wonderful meals are served not before 3pm for lunch and 9pm for dinner. This is traditional Spain - and you don't have to travel far from popular resort areas to find it.

  • Great Hotels In The English Lake District By: Rod Booth - Because the Lake District has so many good hotels it's hard to choose a few to recommend. Yet some stand out by virtue of their quality, their location, and their unique blend of luxury and location. Our first choice is located a few hundred feet above perhaps the most beautiful lake in Britain - Windermere. This small gem of a hotel is The Samling. This remarkable hotel is set in sixty-seven beautiful acres of its own grounds. The Samling describes itself as a luxury hotel in the country (not as a "country house hotel").

  • Using the Best Approach to Find Work on Cruise Ships By: Neil Maxwell Keys - One of the biggest mistakes candidates make when applying for cruise ship jobs is to use an online automated resume distribution service. On the surface it seems like a fast and simple way to get your resume out there, but the truth is most cruise lines really dislike this method of receiving applications. This type of service works by sending copies of your untargeted resume to hundreds of companies in the industry, in the hope of getting you hired for any available vacancies. All for a fee, of course.
